This floating bridge provided a temporary crossing between Canary Wharf and Heron Quay. The superstructure is supported by pontoons, so it floats up and down to follow the tide. The end spans can open to accomodate the passage of small boats, or to allow a rotation of the bridge to let larger vessels through. |
