Personnel:All personnel at the Braintree Office are either Chartered Engineers, and or qualified with a degree or higher qualification from an established University. Technician Engineers are employed at the Dartford Office of Roger Stagg Associates in addition to Chartered Engineers. The Sheffield office of Special Structures Laboratory has degree-qualified personnel. Jan Bobrowski and Partners employ Chartered Engineers and technicians.Principal:The head of engineering design at Cameron Holdsworth Associates is Stuart Holdsworth. He has an Honours Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering awarded by the University of Sheffield in 1979. He was subsequently elected to Chartered Engineer status in 1985, and is a member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. Other memberships include the Concrete Society of Great Britain.Working for established practices such as Ove Arup and Partners (Project Engineer), Redpath Dorman Long (Project Temporary Works Supervisor), Smallman Contractors (Company Structural Engineer), and the Stewart Lyons Partnership (Associate Partner and Company Technical Supervisor), he has developed a wealth of experience in materials, engineering and the construction process. Schemes in which he has had technical responsibilities include the Tyneside Metro: particularly on Byker Viaduct, and Hong Kong Metro at Admiralty and Chater Pedder Stations. Other work included extensions to York District Hospital and the Northern General Hospital Sheffield. As the Structural Engineer for Smallman Contractors; a practice that was involved in the fabrication and erection of steel structures, he built on his earlier work with Redpath Dorman Long which had included working on steel structures such as the mining head-gear at Yorkshire Main Colliery, and railway bridges. The latter projects included the erection of Heathrow Terminal 4; the Broadgate Development in the City of London and the design and installation of structures for the Ford Plant at Dagenham. As the Principal Design Engineer at Stewart Lyons Partnership, he oversaw the design and the construction of projects such as the Boots Company Headquarters in the former Post Office Building in Nottingham, Sainsbury's Kenton, etc. Each of these projects was valued at approximately £5.0m. Laurent Davesne:Laurent Davesne is the office manager for the practice. He qualified as Ingénieur Diplômé d' Etat, with a Diplôme D' Ingénieur from the Ecole Supérieure D' Ingénieurs de Marseille in 1990. He is a graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.He has worked as a Works Engineer on refurbishment sites around Paris from 1992 to 1995 for Bouygues, a major French Contractor, where he has gained a lot of practical experience. Since he joined the practice in 1995, he has been involved in the design and detailing of concrete and steel structures. He has also researched and developed solutions in more unusual sectors, such as structural dynamics, wind loads and vibration damping. Bruno Postle:Degree 1989 Sheffield University. Diploma in Architecture 1993. Worked for many architectural practices. 1993 to date worked with CHA on membrane and lightweight structures.Neil Holdsworth:Neil Holdsworth has an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham. He is an associate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.Between 1977 and 1987, he was Site Engineer or Project Manager for Mears Construction (1977-78), Nor West Holst Construction (1978-79) and Balfour Beatty Engineering (1980-87). Between 1987 and 1990, he was Contracts Manager for FCG Contractors Ltd. He estimated and managed earthworks and demolition contracts valued from 50k to 1.5M. He was Director of Erith Contractors between 1990 and 1998. This job was similar to the previous one, but also involved design and procurement, the projects ranging from 100k to 3.5M. |
